Whether your company deals with large amounts of gasoline or if you are simply distributing cleaning chemicals, there are many different types of spill protection products to help deal with any mess that comes your way and today we are going to talk about those different types of spill clean-up products as well as the types of spills that they are used for.
Booms, Socks, Pads, Pillows & Rolls
They might not sound like absorbent products, but each one of these items has a very specific use for cleaning up many different types of spills.

Booms – Booms are an industry standard for absorbing spills on water. These absorbents only soak up the petroleum-based spill and leave behind the water making on the water spills easy to clean up. These non-linting booms quickly contain spills and can be linked together to form an easy-to-recover barrier.

Socks – Socks are a lot like booms except that they are used for containing spills on the ground instead of the water. Socks are very flexible and are commonly used to surround machinery that is prone to leakage or containing large spills of oils, water, coolant, solvents and many other liquids.

Pads & Rolls – Absorbent pads and rolls are both made of a thin absorbent material that can be laid flat on the ground to soak up any spill you might have. Even though they aren’t very thick, rolls and pads are made of a very heavyweight and durable fabric that can withstand lots of traffic while soaking up some very large messes.

Pillows – They might look like something you could take a nap on, but these pillows contain highly absorbent material that is typically used to catch drips and leaks in areas where a bucket just won’t fit. Just like socks, pillows can be used to contain spills as well, but do a much better job of just simple clean up.
